Job Description:
Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: San Jose, CA (onsite 5 days/week)
Duration: 6+ months contract
Principle Functions:
o Define project objectives, project scope.
o Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage effectively.
o Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, from initiation to close-out, ensuring alignment with company procedures and legal requirements.
o Prepare a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver project on budget.
o Prepare a project charter, a business case and a detailed project plan.
o Develop and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
o Track project and provide regular reports on project status to PMO and key stakeholders. Manage and adjust for any changes in project scope, schedule and budget.
o Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors. Provide clear communication to stakeholders, ensuring project goals are understood and met.
o Identify potential risks related to construction schedules, costs, or safety, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulations.
o Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
o Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining construction processes while maintaining adherence to compliance protocols.
o Prepare a closeout package at the end of the project and share lessons learned and best practices.
- Monitoring and reporting to PMO
o Regularly monitor project status and report on progress, identifying any deviations from the plan and proposing corrective actions.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including meeting minutes. Progress report, and project files.
o Maintain a project master list.
o Maintain & develop templates for Project Management Office.
o Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings and decision.
o Provide internal process support in submissions related to invoice payments, creation of budget requests, purchase requests & purchase orders, PUMIs, and etc.
o Contribute to process improvement initiatives, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in project management practices.
- Coordination and communication
o Facilitate effective communication between team members, project managers, and stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed about project progress and any potential issues.
o Maintain a good working relationship with project vendors to enhance quality and timely delivery of supplies/equipment/work.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in construction, engineering or a relevant field of study.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience
- Proven working experience in project management
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience managing projects through the full life cycle
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with computer software programs including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, CAD, Bluebeam and MS project.
- Work well under pressure and within time constraints in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task with attention to details
- Ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Capable of working with ambiguity and change
