About the Role
A growing technology solutions provider specializing in physical security systems is seeking a Physical Security – Sales Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of security camera and access control solutions for commercial clients. This role combines technical engineering expertise with customer-facing sales support, assisting in delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performing security systems.
This is a full-time opportunity offering a base salary of $60,000 annually, along with commission on all physical security sales and additional compensation opportunities.

Job Description
The Physical Security – Sales Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining surveillance and access control systems while partnering with clients to deliver effective security solutions. This role requires hands-on technical work, system troubleshooting, and customer interaction to ensure system performance and client satisfaction.

Design, deploy, and maintain security camera and door access systems for clients
Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure uptime and efficiency
Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise, system recommendations, and solution design
Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
Troubleshoot system issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools
Provide technical support and guidance to end users, addressing system questions and concerns
Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and client interactions in a ticketing system
Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend system upgrades or enhancements
Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery

Work Environment & Schedule:

Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments
Regular use of ladders and/or lifts required
Hybrid schedule: in-office, remote, and travel throughout Minnesota
Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional evenings/weekends as needed)

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Proven experience as a Physical Security Engineer or in a similar technical role
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and related technologies
Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools
Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS
Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with security system vendors such as Hanwha and March Networks
Experience supporting or contributing to technical sales processes or solution engineering
Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ConnectWise
Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions for security systems
