- Create and communicate AI policies aligned with federal laws, ethical guidelines, and security requirements.
- Lead and develop AI talent by identifying needed skill sets, supporting hiring, mentoring junior staff, and upskilling the broader program team.
- Serve as the AI SME, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership across the program.
- Evaluate multiple AI approaches to select the appropriate tool for the mission.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field. Alternatively, 5+ years of equivalent experience in AI development, AI engineering, and AI architecture will be considered.
Experience: A deep understanding of AI principles, architectures, and technologies, with the ability to apply AI across different problem sets. Experience with self-hosted and cloud-based AI platforms such as AWS (GovCloud preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud is required.
Technical Skills: - Experience with machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ to demonstrate functionality.
- Experience with AI tools and frameworks like Sagemaker, Pytorch, TensorFlow, Glue, Databricks, Elasticsearch, Azure AI, Pandas, and NumPy.
- Ability to produce scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective architecture and designs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years managing, designing, and implementing enterprise technology solutions.
- 4+ years delivering technical solutions for government customers.
- 4+ years incorporating security best practices, such as the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- 3+ years translating requirements into high-level system designs.
- 3+ years designing and implementing data management technologies.
- 3+ years integrating systems and services through standard or custom APIs.
- Experience with DevSecOps methodologies.
