Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer (Contractor) to support a major bank-to-bank migration. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in advanced SQL, ETL/ELT pipeline development, dbt, Snowflake, and Kafka and a proven ability to build robust data pipelines, support conversion cycles, and ensure high-quality, timely data integration.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations to support Item Processing data integration.
- Support conversion cycles and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Validate and reconcile complex datasets under tight deadlines.
- Troubleshoot data issues and ensure timely, accurate data integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced SQL and strong ETL/ELT pipeline development experience.
- Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) and Snowflake.
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven data integration.
- Strong data investigation and troubleshooting skills with clear communication across teams and vendors.
Preferred Skills:
- IBM DataStage and Python.
- Financial or Item Processing and check data experience.
- Prior work on data conversions or large-scale migration projects.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.
