System Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking an experienced System Administrator in Boca Raton, FL to serve as the primary administrator for enterprise backup, recovery, and cloud infrastructure across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for designing, optimizing, and validating data protection and high-availability solutions while leading disaster recovery planning, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Veeam, VMware vSphere/vCenter, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise backup and recovery operations.

Responsibilities:
* Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution across cloud and on-premises environments
* Design, implement, and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication architecture, including retention policies, repositories, replication, and immutable storage
* Administer VMware vSphere/vCenter environments supporting backup, replication, and recovery validation
* Manage enterprise storage and backup platforms including SAN/NAS environments, deduplication appliances, and immutable repositories
* Perform backup integrity verification through restore testing and automated validation processes
* Support business continuity initiatives, recovery strategies, and business impact analysis activities
* Expand and maintain Microsoft Azure infrastructure supporting backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity objectives
* Monitor backup performance, capacity utilization, and service level compliance
* Troubleshoot backup and recovery issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
* Support audit and compliance requirements related to backup retention, recoverability, and data protection controls
* Develop automation, reporting, and operational documentation using PowerShell
* Serve as a subject matter expert for backup, recovery, storage management, and disaster recovery operations

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-8 years of systems administration experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
* Hands-on experience administering Veeam Backup & Replication in enterprise production environments
* Strong VMware vSphere and vCenter administration experience
* Administrator-level experience with Microsoft Azure, including storage, resource management, access controls, and cost optimization
* PowerShell scripting and automation experience
* Experience supporting Windows Server environments
* Knowledge of disaster recovery concepts including RTO, RPO, replication, snapshots, immutability, and recovery testing
* Knowledge of enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp and/or Tintri
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
* VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
* Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
