We are now seeking a passionate Engineer of Safety, Sustainability, and Environmental to join our Legal & Risk Management team to help lead our efforts in premise safety, sustainability, and environmental compliance.

Reporting to the VP of Risk Management, this role will utilize engineering and environmental science principles to improve site safety, mitigate premises risk, reduce hazards and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards across its 11 industry groups and 120+ autonomous business units.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform documentary premise compliance audits and on-site environmental health and safety inspections to identify and document safety hazards, site security risks, and compliance gaps
  • Maintain and analyze data from site visits and business outreach in centralized risk management and/or EHS database
  • Collaborate with on-site managers and operators to implement premise risk mitigation and/or environmental compliance strategies and recommend immediate corrective actions
  • Assist in the design and implementation of a comprehensive, centralized Environmental Management System and document repository
  • Recommend and develop policies, procedures, strategies, and training on various topics such as emergency response planning, safety practices, and environmental compliance
  • As necessary, assist with the management and utilization of data associated with workplace reviews and property visits to identify potential hazards and conditions including both workplace safety and property recommendations
  • As necessary, assist with management and utilization of data associated with training and guidance to employees on safety practices and emergency response procedures
  • Travel as needed (expectation of up to 50% travel)

What You'll Bring to the Role:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental management, environmental engineering, safety engineering, emergency planning, or a related science or engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management, premises safety/security, emergency planning, and/or environmental management
  • Knowledge of facility management, emergency planning, premises security, safety regulations, and environmental regulations
  • Relevant continuing education, licensing, and certification in engineering, safety, and/or loss control

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail, superior organizational and analytical skills, high reliability, and consistent follow-through on tasks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ethics and professional integrity with the ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential data and information in an appropriate manner
  • Interest in sustainability, reducing carbon emissions, and planet-friendly business solutions
  • Certification in relevant safety and environmental standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001) is a plus
  • Experience in facility and/or premises security, facility management, emergency planning, remediation

Pay Range:
90,000.00 - 135,000.00
