Lead Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Westchester, IL.

Responsibilities:
* Lead Software Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership, mentoring engineers through design decisions, development practices, and problem-solving
* Establish and enforce best practices for software development, testing, deployment, and documentation
* Set clear expectations for code quality, reliability, security, and maintainability
* Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence
* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software initiatives, ensuring high-quality outcomes delivered on schedule
* Coordinate engineering efforts across the team to effectively scope, prioritize, and deliver features
* As a Lead Software Engineer, you will actively contribute to design and development, maintaining a hands-on presence in critical areas of the codebase
* Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to established engineering standards
* Balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability and architectural integrity

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience with Software Engineering Practices
* Agile Methodologies experience
* Experience with C# in .NET

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
