Mechanical Design Engineer located in
Littleton, MA.Reporting to the
Product Manager the
Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, validating, and implementing innovative and cost-effective product solutions of complex scope to support the organization in prototype development through full-scale production.
What a typical day looks like:- Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned product portfolio in areas like sheet metal design/fabrication, soft tooling processes (sheet metal stamping/fabrication, tig/mig/spot welding) and equipment; telecom infrastructure products such as chassis, cabinets, racks, shelving, etc.
- Integrate multiple elements of finished design (such as backplane/interconnect, power distribution, and thermal management).
- Work with other members of the development team to support corporate design initiatives.
- Prepare recommendations for production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations.
- Assist in generating production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations
- Support actively customer base with design improvements that enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:- Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools. Office skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation package.
- Impacts operations of immediate work group. Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies. Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area.
- Limited decision-making opportunities or responsibilities; makes guided or scenario-based decisions requiring management approval. Provides input for team decisions. Decisions affect team.
- Closely supervised, normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
- Identifies own development needs and works toward them.
