Senior IT Systems Engineer (Contract) to provide onsite support 4-5 days per week across enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, identity platforms, security operations, and end-user computing environments.
This individual will serve as a senior technical resource within the IT Infrastructure team and will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving critical IT systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of operating independently, driving projects forward with minimal supervision, and taking ownership of day-to-day operational responsibilities.
The role requires a strong blend of infrastructure engineering, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, cybersecurity, and cloud operations experience.
Primary ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Systems Administration- Administer and support Windows Server environments.
- Manage Hyper-V clusters, storage systems, virtual machines, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Support enterprise networking infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPN solutions, and wireless technologies.
- Support server lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Administer Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions, including application deployments, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and remediation scripts.
- Support Windows, macOS, and mobile device management.
- Troubleshoot endpoint security, patching, and compliance issues.
Identity & Access Management- Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
- Manage authentication, MFA, Conditional Access policies, SSO integrations, and identity governance processes.
- Support user provisioning and deprovisioning, role-based access controls, and privileged account management.
- Participate in SOX and compliance-related access reviews and audit support activities.
Security Operations- Investigate and remediate security alerts and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with managed security providers and internal stakeholders.
- Support endpoint protection, device control, privileged access management, and security best practices.
- Participate in incident response activities and root cause analysis.
Cloud & Platform Operations- Support cloud infrastructure and services; AWS experience is preferred.
- Assist with managed file transfer automation platforms and identity/access management platforms.
IT Service Delivery & Process Improvement- Act as Tier 3 escalation support for complex infrastructure and systems issues.
- Create automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting technologies.
- Improve operational processes through documentation, automation, and standardization.
- Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure engineering experience.

- Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals.
- Experience with endpoint management tools; Endpoint Central experience preferred.
- Experience with security operations and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with ITSM platforms; ServiceNow experience preferred.
- Experience supporting regulated environments and compliance requirements.
- Experience independently managing complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications- AWS administration experience.
