Overview

A leading retail organization is seeking a Business Systems Manager (ERP Functional Manager) to support the implementation and ongoing management of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced SAP professional who will help drive a major ERP transformation initiative while leading a team of ERP analysts.

The ideal candidate will bring strong SAP functional expertise, implementation experience, team leadership capabilities, and a passion for improving business processes through technology.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Implementation & Delivery

• Play a hands-on role in an active SAP S/4HANA Cloud implementation.
• Partner with SAP consultants, implementation partners, and business stakeholders.
• Review configuration, process designs, and functional specifications.
• Support testing, data migration, cutover planning, and go-live activities.
• Manage SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and business sign-off processes.
• Track project risks, issues, actions, and decisions.
• Participate in workshops, project meetings, and status reviews.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of ERP Analysts.
• Support the transition from legacy ERP platforms to SAP S/4HANA.
• Develop training and growth plans for team members.
• Drive knowledge transfer from implementation partners to internal teams.
• Serve as the escalation point between business users and IT leadership.

Business Process Expertise

Provide guidance across:

• Sales Order Processing
• Order-to-Cash
• Warehouse Management
• Inventory Management
• Stock Transfers
• Returns Processing
• Direct Ship and Special Orders
• Financial Posting Integration

Production Support & IT Service Management

• Establish SAP support processes aligned with ITIL principles.
• Manage Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request processes.
• Lead root cause analysis and recurring issue resolution.
• Manage relationships with SAP support and AMS partners.
• Coordinate SAP support tickets and ongoing system improvements.

Change Management & Releases

• Govern SAP enhancements and change requests.
• Coordinate movement of changes across environments.
• Evaluate SAP releases and assess business impacts.
• Lead regression testing and release validation activities.

Go-Live & Hypercare

• Support cutover planning and execution.
• Participate in readiness assessments and mock cutovers.
• Lead support teams during go-live and hypercare.
• Ensure a smooth transition to steady-state operations.

Required Qualifications

SAP Expertise

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP functional experience.
• Strong SAP configuration experience.
• Experience supporting at least one full SAP implementation lifecycle.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • SAP Sales & Distribution (SD)
  • SAP Warehouse Management (WM/EWM)
  • Inventory Management
  • Order-to-Cash
  • Procurement & Purchasing

SAP S/4HANA Experience

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition experience highly desired.
• Familiarity with:
  • Fit-to-Standard methodology
  • Central Business Configuration (CBC)
  • Key User Extensibility
  • SAP Cloud release management

Leadership Experience

• 2+ years leading, mentoring, or managing teams.
• Experience serving as a Functional Lead, Team Lead, or Manager.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Additional Qualifications

• ITIL-aligned support experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with testing, cutover planning, and hypercare support.
• Ability to work cross-functionally across business and technology teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
