Role: Snowflake Admin

Cloud Platform Engineer (Snowflake Platform) is responsible for the administration, architecture, governance, security and performance of the enterprise Snowflake platform. This role serves as the Platform expert of Snowflake and works closely with data engineering, analytics, architecture, security, and cloud teams to deliver a scalable, secure, and cost-effective data platform.
The ideal candidate combines strong Snowflake administration expertise with platform engineering, automation, governance, and architecture experience. This role provides an opportunity to influence enterprise data platform strategy and lead adoption of modern analytics and AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
o Administer Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, resource monitors, and platform configurations.
o Configure and manage RBAC, data masking, row-level security, tagging, data sharing, and governance capabilities.
o Manage users, service accounts, SCIM provisioning, SSO integrations, and identity management.
o Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
o Monitor platform health, performance, consumption, and costs; drive optimization initiatives.
o Troubleshoot platform, security, access, networking, and performance issues.
o Partner with Security and Compliance teams to implement governance, audit, and regulatory controls.
o Design and maintain platform architecture standards, operational processes, and roadmaps.
o Enable adoption of Snowpark, Cortex AI, Openflow, Iceberg Tables, and other Snowflake capabilities.
o Develop automation and self-service platform capabilities.
o Mentor engineering teams on Snowflake best practices and platform governance.
o Evaluate new Snowflake features and provide recommendations for enterprise adoption.
Required Qualifications
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
o 5+ years of cloud platform engineering or administration experience.
o 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake administration experience in enterprise environments.
o Experience with Snowflake warehouses, RBAC, resource monitors, data sharing, replication, and security controls.
o Experience implementing Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code.
o Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, networking, identity, and security.
o Experience supporting data engineering, analytics, BI, or AI/ML workloads.
o Experience with performance tuning, cost optimization, and platform governance.
o Strong automation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
o SnowPro Core, Administrator, or Architect certification.
o Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD automation.
o Experience with Snowpark, Cortex AI, Openflow, Native Apps, Data Clean Rooms, and Iceberg Tables.
o Experience integrating Snowflake with Databricks and modern lakehouse platforms.
o Experience with FinOps and cloud cost management practices.
o Experience supporting regulated data environments (HIPAA, PHI, PII, HITRUST).
o Experience with monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Datadog, Azure Monitor.
