Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a DevOps Engineer to join a mission-focused team. This role involves delivering solutions in complex environments and supporting the design, build, test, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical platforms. The position requires performing system automation tasks, providing solutions to technical problems using DevOps practices, and supporting the design and configuration of computing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up automation and tooling for the installation and configuration of Windows servers, Linux servers, and related software.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform automated maintenance tasks such as applying updates and security fixes.
- Automate the configuration and management of network services, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
- Automate the implementation of backup strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery.
- Implement and maintain automated security measures, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls.
- Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and migrations.
- Stay current on the latest technologies, industry trends, and security practices.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of experience with Development Operations (DevOps).
Technical Skills: 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB, and experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Clearance: An active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with a current full-scope polygraph is required. U.S. Citizenship is necessary for this clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or higher.
- Experience levels of 5+ years (Level 4) or 10+ years (Level 5) of related work experience.
- Knowledge of network protocols and services such as DNS and DHCP.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Jenkins.
- Certifications in DevOps, DevOps Tooling, or other relevant IT certifications.
