We ;re growing our governance function across multiple programs - Data Governance, Information Governance, and AI Governance - each at a different point in its journey, some established and maturing, others being built from the ground up. This role offers the chance to do both: strengthen what ;s working and shape what ;s still being defined, moving between programs as priorities shift.
Job Summary:
Partners across business, IT, privacy, security, and other units to build and strengthen governance capabilities across Data, Information, and AI Governance programs - from established initiatives to those still taking shape. Takes direction and runs with it, translating ambiguous or evolving needs into practical processes, documentation, and tools with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Position Duties:
- Design and implement governance processes, workflows, and documentation for programs across a range of maturity - from established to still-forming
- Translate business needs into practical frameworks, tools, and training materials
- Partner with stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences to drive adoption
- Operate with significant autonomy - identify gaps, propose solutions, and execute without a predefined playbook
- Flex across programs as priorities shift, applying the same core skill set to different levels of ambiguity and structure
Required Skills:
- Quickly grasps governance, policy, or regulatory requirements and translates them into clear processes, documentation, guides, and stakeholder conversations
- Comfortable building structure from ambiguity; doesn ;t wait to be told what to do

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in higher education or another complex, decentralized institutional environment
- Exposure to governance, compliance, or risk-related work (data, information, or AI)
Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience in business process, governance, compliance, IT business analysis, or a related field. Bachelor ;s degree preferred (any field); higher education experience as a student or employee is a plus. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
