The Systems Engineer II will design, develop, maintain, and support Epic reporting infrastructure that includes network, hardware, database, and/or system software components.

Job Summary
Summary
Implement, maintain, and support Epic reporting platforms comprising software, networks, hardware, and databases. Responsible for the implementation and support of technical solutions, including platform systems that require critical aspects of infrastructure, network, application, database, and security frameworks.

Essential Functions
-Manage day-to-day operations of Epic reporting platforms, including applications, servers, storage, and networked services.
-Monitor and optimize platform performance, availability, and capacity.
-Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues across multiple environments.
-Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
-Contribute to the design and implementation of new platforms and services.
-Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
-Support security hardening and vulnerability remediation efforts.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and technical projects.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred.

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
Yes.

Licenses and Credentials

Epic Cogito Systems Administration Certification preferred.

Experience

Prior related professional experience as an Epic systems engineer or related Database Administration position of 3-5 years experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in administering Epic systems and platforms.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Solid understanding of data structure and database management systems.
- Intermediate scripting and automation skills to streamline operational tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and interpreting performance data.
- Understanding of system security concepts and the implementation of security-leading practices.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Working Model Requirements
  • M-F Eastern Business Hours Full Time required
  • Hybrid model includes in person onsite work at MGB local sites, weekly or monthly, to be determined based on business needs
  • Must be flexible for weekly or monthly in person stakeholder meetings, team meetings and internal customer needs
  • On remote workdays, employees must use a stable, secure, and compliant workstation in a quiet environment. Teams video is required and must be accessed using MGB-provided equipment
