Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise Core, Wide Area (WAN), and Cloud network infrastructure. This role serves as a senior technical resource, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while leading complex network engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong automation skills, and experience building scalable, secure, and high-performing network environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage Core, WAN, and Cloud network architectures, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
Provide advanced troubleshooting support (Layer 1-7) and mentor junior engineers in resolving complex network issues
Research, evaluate, and recommend network technologies, vendors, and solutions aligned with business objectives
Implement and maintain network automation frameworks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, or similar
Integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation into CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled environments (Git)
Monitor network health, performance, and capacity using enterprise tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus)
Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, standards, and operational procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, Infrastructure, Applications) to deliver secure and reliable network solutions
Support and enhance network security posture, including firewalls, segmentation, and access controls
Lead network projects end-to-end, from design through deployment and post-implementation support
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously improving network performance and cost efficiency

Technical Qualifications
Strong experience with enterprise networking technologies, including:
Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
Switching: VLANs, STP, VXLAN
Firewalls and security platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA)
Load balancing solutions (e.g., F5, NGINX, HAProxy)
Experience designing and managing cloud networking environments in:
AWS (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect)
Microsoft Azure (Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute)
Familiarity with SD-WAN architectures and large-scale distributed networks
Experience with network monitoring, configuration management, and automation systems
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Shell scripting)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
7+ years of experience in Network Engineering
Demonstrated experience implementing network automation and infrastructure as code
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or distributed network environments
Background in logistics, transportation, or high-availability environments (preferred)

Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Participation in an on-call rotation supporting a 24/7 production network environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
