Job Description:
Reconciliation Analyst

Location: Omaha, Nebraska (Hybrid)

Role Overview

This position is a blend of project and migration work, general ledger reconciliation, and process improvement. The role will lead the migration of insurance products and processes to the Insurance Administration team. The successful candidate will build standardized workflows, standard operating procedures, quality assurance controls, and general ledger reconciliation protocols. This role involves supporting insurance product migrations, financial reconciliations, process improvement initiatives, and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the migration of insurance products and processes, defining timelines, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, operating procedures, workflows, and quality assurance controls.
  • Perform end-to-end general ledger reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Partner with accounting and business teams to establish controls and improve operational processes.
  • Engage with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues and improve processes, policies, and protocols.
  • Build and maintain weekly and month-end reports, as well as departmental key performance indicators.
  • Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train team members on newly implemented processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in general ledger balancing or financial reconciliation is required.
  • Experience with project management, process migrations, implementations, or conversions.
  • Proficiency in cash posting and discrepancy resolution.
  • Experience with process mapping and workflow documentation.

Technical Skills:
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, are a must for building reconciliations.
  • Experience with a core banking platform, such as Hogan or a similar system, is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Tableau for visual reporting.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.

Essential Skills:
  • Must be self-sufficient, inquisitive, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills are necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data for leaders and management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • An accounting degree or accounting certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, including operations, policy administration, or products.
  • Experience with third-party vendor and risk management.
  • Knowledge of statistics.
Work Environment

This position is based in an indoor office setting with moderate noise. The onsite expectation is four days per week.
