Databricks Administrator (Unity Catalog, Genie AI & Agent Bricks) - Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled Databricks Administrator to manage and optimize the Databricks Lakehouse platform, focusing on governance, security, and AI/ML enablement.

This role involves end-to-end administration of Databricks workspaces, implementation of Unity Catalog, and enabling advanced AI capabilities such as Genie AI (conversational analytics) and Agent Bricks (AI agent systems).

The ideal candidate will ensure robust data governance, operational efficiency, and seamless AI/ML lifecycle management.

• Administer and manage Databricks workspaces across environments (Dev, QA, Prod)
• Implement and manage Unity Catalog for centralized data governance
• Define and enforce data access policies, RBAC, and security controls
• Monitor platform usage, performance, and cost optimization
• Automate administrative tasks using scripting (Python, CLI, APIs)
• Manage cluster configurations, job scheduling, and workspace policies
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards

• Enable and support Databricks Genie (conversational analytics)
• Work with Agent Bricks to support AI-driven workflows and agent-based systems
• Support ML lifecycle (MLflow, model registry, deployment workflows)
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers for platform enablement

• Troubleshoot platform, access, and performance issues
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions
• Maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies
• Support incident management and root cause analysis (RCA)

• Strong experience with Databricks administration
• Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog (governance, permissions, lineage)
• Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices
• Experience with Python, SQL, or scripting for automation
• Knowledge of CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)
• Experience managing clusters, jobs, and workspace configurations

• Experience with Databricks Genie AI
• Exposure to Agent Bricks / AI agent frameworks
• Familiarity with MLflow and MLOps practices
• Experience with data pipelines (Spark, Delta Lake)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and cost optimization strategies
• Experience in enterprise environments with compliance requirements

• 5+ years in Data Engineering / Platform Administration / DevOps
• 2+ years of hands-on Databricks administration experience
• Strong experience in production support environments

• Must be available for remote work
