Temporary Manager - Data Audit (Global Banking Practice)

RSM is seeking an experienced Temporary Manager to join our Data Audit team in support of a large global banking client. This role sits within the Third Line of Defense and focuses on auditing and validating consent order remediation and issue closure efforts across data management systems, analytics platforms, and reporting applications. The position requires a strong blend of technical data expertise and audit rigor to deliver regulator-ready validation and assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Third Line audits and validation work across data management, data processing, and data consumption environments in support of regulatory remediation efforts.
  • Review, test, and validate Python code used in data processing, analytics, and reporting workflows.
  • Audit and assess SQL queries supporting data transformation, aggregation, and reporting outputs.
  • Evaluate Database Management Systems (DBMS), data governance processes, and data quality controls.
  • Audit reporting and analytics platforms (e.g., Alteryx), including data lineage, cubes, dashboards, and ad-hoc analytics.
  • Assess access controls, data security, and data protection mechanisms for sensitive bank data.
  • Trace end-to-end data lineage across ingestion, processing, management, reporting, and analytics layers.
  • Perform technical testing of bank-developed controls, validating design and operating effectiveness.
  • Produce clear, regulator-ready audit documentation and validation reports aligned with internal audit methodology and regulatory expectations.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience auditing or validating data systems, reporting platforms, and analytics tools within large, complex financial institutions.
  • Strong Third Line of Defense audit background, including issue validation and remediation testing.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and analytics platforms such as Alteryx.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit data processing code, DBMS, and reporting workflows with confidence.
  • Experience supporting consent order, MRA/MRIA, or regulatory issue validation engagements preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in global bank data management and reporting technologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver high-quality, regulator-ready workpapers.

Compensation Range: $54 - $80 per hour
