Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:

The Information Technology Technician I is a student worker role within the University Technology Services (UTS) Learning Technologies team. This position supports a technical area and provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in IT operations, documentation, and process improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide Villanova faculty/staff/students with Learning Management System (Blackboard and Brightspace) support and other Villanova supported learning technologies support (e.g. Zoom, Respondus, VoiceThread, etc...)
  • Assist with UTS-Learning Technologies answering and completing service requests from Villanova faculty/students/staff
  • Assist UTS-Learning Technologies staff with projects as needed
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation and assist in process improvement projects.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

Training for all responsibilities will be provided.

Preferred candidates will possess the following skills:
A commitment to excellent customer service
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Comfortable with technology and ability to troubleshoot in Windows, MAC OS, as well as mobile environments
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Blackboard or Brightspace) and video conferencing technology (Zoom)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Dependable once shifts/hours are agreed upon.
