ServiceNow Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Architect to lead the technical architecture, development, integration, and governance of enterprise-wide ServiceNow solutions for a high-profile public sector client.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on ServiceNow Architect with strong expertise in ServiceNow development, JavaScript, CSDM, CMDB, ITOM, integrations, security, and regulated government environments. Experience working within FedRAMP-authorized or similarly regulated cloud environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the technical architecture and platform strategy for ServiceNow.
• Ensure alignment with CSDM, ServiceNow best practices, scalability, security, and upgradeability.
• Develop and configure custom scoped applications, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and complex workflows.
• Use JavaScript and Glide APIs for advanced ServiceNow development.
• Design and implement integrations using IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, MID Server, REST, and SOAP APIs.
• Manage and optimize CMDB and ITOM capabilities, including Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Configure advanced ACLs, encryption, and security controls to support government and regulatory requirements.
• Establish development standards, conduct code reviews, and minimize technical debt.
• Troubleshoot complex platform issues and provide hands-on technical leadership.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and engagement leads to translate requirements into high-level architecture and technical specifications.
• Support platform governance, performance optimization, upgrades, and long-term scalability.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 5+ years of deep ServiceNow technical development/architecture experience.
• Strong expertise in ServiceNow architecture and hands-on development.
• Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Glide APIs, Studio, UI Builder, and Service Portal.
• Strong understanding of CSDM, CMDB, and ITOM.
• Hands-on experience with Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Experience designing integrations using IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, MID Server, REST/SOAP APIs.
• Experience with ServiceNow security, including ACLs, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Proven experience in FedRAMP or similarly regulated government cloud environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be able to work onsite in Columbus, OH.

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITSM or ITOM preferred
• ITIL v4 Foundation

• ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA)
• Security+ or comparable cybersecurity certification
