Location: San Antonio, TX preferred; Remote is also acceptable

Travel: Travel may be required when requested by the client for candidates working remotely.

Job Description:
Senior Technology Architect responsible for defining the architecture and modernization strategy for AS/400 / IBM I and COBOL applications, including migration to modern technologies using Cloud and AI/GenAI.

Key Responsibilities:
• Define target architecture and legacy modernization roadmap.
• Assess AS/400, COBOL applications, databases, integrations, and dependencies.
• Design modern microservices, APIs, cloud and event-driven architectures.
• Define COBOL-to-modern technology migration strategy.
• Identify and implement GenAI/LLM use cases for code analysis, conversion, documentation, and testing.
• Provide technical leadership to AI and development teams.
• Drive architecture governance, security, scalability, and performance.

Required Skills:
•12–18+ years in Enterprise/Application Architecture.
• Strong AS/400 / IBM i and COBOL experience.
• Java/.NET/Python, APIs, Microservices.
• AWS/Azure and cloud-native architecture.
• GenAI/LLM, Azure OpenAI/OpenAI or similar platforms.
• Strong client-facing and technical leadership skills.
