Summary

Quality Analyst with FIX Protocol

Location: NYC, NY (Hybrid)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Analyst (QA) with hands-on experience in FIX Protocol (Financial Information eXchange) to support testing of trading platforms and financial systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in functional, integration, and regression testing within capital markets or trading environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and/or automated testing of trading applications using FIX Protocol
  • Validate FIX messages (e.g., New Order, Execution Report, Cancel/Replace)
  • Analyze FIX logs and troubleshoot message flows between systems
  • Create, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and traders to understand requirements
  • Perform end-to-end testing of order lifecycle (order entry, routing, execution, allocation)
  • Conduct regression, system integration, and UAT testing
  • Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and system integrity
  • Support production releases and post-release validation

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Quality Analyst / QA Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of FIX Protocol (4.2 / 4.4 / 5.0)
  • Experience in capital markets / trading systems (Equities, Derivatives, FX, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret FIX message tags and flows
  • Hands-on experience with FIX testing tools (e.g., FIX Simulator, QuickFIX)
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and order management systems (OMS/EMS)
  • Experience with SQL for data validation
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, ALM)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation tools (Selenium, Python, Java-based frameworks)
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Exposure to API testing (REST/SOAP)
  • Understanding of market data feeds
  • Certification in QA or financial markets is a plus
