Position Overview
Seeking an enterprise-grade Siemens Opcenter Discrete Senior Developer and Technical Lead with 10+ years of experience to drive the architecture, hands-on customization, and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) across a 100% on-site aerospace production environment. This techno-functional engineering role focuses on implementing extensions for Opcenter execution modules, connecting shop-floor industrial networks, and building closed-loop manufacturing tracks between PLM and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Opcenter MES Platform Engineering: Lead the technical implementation, configuration, and customization of the Siemens Opcenter MOM platform, focusing specifically on Discrete modules.
* Component & Extension Development: Build custom application modules, user experiences, and event routes utilizing Opcenter EX FN, native Client frameworks, MOM Connect, IPL, and Mendix customization layers.
* Shop Floor & PLC Integration: Design, deploy, and maintain industrial network communication layers, managing physical telemetry lines via OPC-UA protocols and PLC/SCADA control configurations.
* Closed-Loop Manufacturing Architecting: Map data structures and build enterprise integration loops that bridge product designs (PLM) with commercial resource planning engines (ERP) utilizing robust middleware and message queues.
* Techno-Functional Analysis: Execute comprehensive technical impact assessments on complex manufacturing requirements, transforming system constraints into production-ready software designs.
* Site Support & SLA Governance: Coordinate directly with active manufacturing plants to contextualize shop-floor operations, steering incident, problem, and change management workflows to guarantee application uptime.
* Technical Leadership & COE Alignment: Provide technical guidance to software engineering cohorts, oversee sprint delivery metrics within Agile frameworks, and contribute to global Digital Manufacturing Center of Excellence (COE) initiatives.
Required Skillset
* Experience: 10+ years of professional manufacturing execution systems engineering and core software development experience within discrete or complex assembly manufacturing.
* Siemens MOM Ecosystem Mastery: Proven hands-on development experience configuring Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete modules, including EX FN, MOM Connect, IPL, and Mendix low-code extensions.
* Industrial Interfacing Stack: Strong knowledge of factory automation principles, OPC-UA architectures, SCADA telemetry parsing, and enterprise integration patterns.
* System Integration Literacy: Practical background working with backend APIs, distributed messaging queues, and the synchronization mechanics behind PLM/ERP frameworks.
* Domain Context: Prior professional exposure engineering software systems for the Aerospace/Aviation sector or specialized ruggedized manufacturing environments.
