Summary

MTSI is seeking a JSE Systems/Software Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility to support a high visibility Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, Fighters and Advanced Aircraft Directorate customer at WPAFB, Ohio. The engineer will support multiple projects decomposing top-level program requirements into discrete JSE software services requirements that are detailed and testable. This engineer will work closely with software development teams and test engineers to establish and manage requirements traceability from program-level specifications down to software implementation and subsequent verification test cases. This position will be co-located on-site with the customer at WPAFB.

Essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Performing the role of Systems/Software Engineer across multiple acquisition efforts, to include: design, development, integration, test, deployment.
  • Applying modern commercial software development practices and tools such at: AGILE, Kanban, Git, Artifactory, Cucumber, Atlassian, Jenkins, etc.
  • Applying digital engineering best practices in software development/implementation, including use of MBSE approaches.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between government program offices, contractor development teams, test engineers, and training systems designers to ensure the simulation environment satisfies stakeholder needs
  • Development and evaluation of JSE/GSI interface control documents and other technical documentation for implementation and industry adoption
  • Support verification, validation, and accreditation efforts by reviewing test plans and procedures to ensure they provide adequate coverage for system and software requirements.
  • Working with JSE Enterprise stakeholders and acquisition programs to resolve challenges with developing Joint Simulation Compliant training simulators
  • Developing and presenting information to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Experience with Joint Simulation Environment Software Services development (GRID, NGTS, DIADS, etc.,)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starting, charge-the-hill mentality to deliver mission capability at the speed of need.
  • Experience integrating newly developed capability in ASPEx and EAAGLEs framework
  • Demonstrated ability applying modern commercial software development practices and tools such at: AGILE, Kanban, Git, Artifactory, Cucumber, Atlassian, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C++ and Python
  • Experience with Linux OS, such as: RedHat (RHEL)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years of experience working on Special Access Programs within the last 4 years.
  • Familiarity working with or within open architecture vendor consortiums
  • Familiarity with open system design concepts and open architectures (e.g., Open Mission Systems (OMS), Universal Command/Control Interface (UCI), etc.).
  • Familiarity Experience with container frameworks and orchestration, such as: Kubernetes, K8s, Docker, Singularity, OCI, etc.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo).

Clearance Requirements
  • A Top-Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility is required on day one.
