Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician / Test Engineer with a strong background in semiconductor systems, electro-mechanical assembly, system integration, and hands-on testing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with lab equipment, engineering drawings, test setups, prototypes, and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
• Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Hardware, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience working with semiconductor systems
• Hands-on knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly techniques
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as multimeters, dial indicators, calipers, and laser measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and schematics
• Familiarity with hand and power tools
• Experience setting up tests, developing test plans, collecting and analyzing test data
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reports and presentations
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct technical research and analysis to support engineering projects
• Assist with designing, building, integrating, and testing systems, equipment, and components
• Build and test prototypes to evaluate performance and identify design issues
• Set up test equipment and collect, analyze, and document test data
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, specifications, and test reports
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot engineering and build-related issues
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other technical professionals to resolve technical challenges
• Support system integration activities and ensure builds align with project milestones
• Assemble modules and integrate complete systems
• Develop and improve build processes and resolve assembly/integration issues
• Create and maintain build schedules based on project milestones
• Track materials and coordinate progress updates with project teams
• Support upcoming demonstration-tool projects by identifying delta and retrofit parts
• Coordinate retrofit activities, manage build schedules, and resolve issues during system integration
• Stay current with relevant engineering technologies, tools, and best practices
Preferred Profile
• Strong hands-on semiconductor equipment experience
• Electro-mechanical assembly and system integration experience
• Manufacturing, prototype, or engineering lab experience
• Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Comfortable working in a hands-on engineering environment
• Strong documentation and communication skills

• Onsite position in Fremont, CA
• Contract position with potential for extension
