Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Warehouse ETL/BI Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with ETL development, SQL, Teradata, relational databases, data marts, reporting, dashboards, and data warehouse technologies. This individual will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Data Warehouse, ETL, Business Intelligence, reporting, dashboard, and data mart solutions.
- Design and maintain ETL processes and data integration solutions.
- Develop complex SQL queries and work with relational databases.
- Support and enhance Teradata Data Warehouse environments.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Collaborate with data modelers, architects, DBAs, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
- Design solutions with a focus on data accuracy, reconciliation, performance, and reporting needs.
- Troubleshoot and optimize queries, reports, and data warehouse processes.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across multiple development initiatives.
- Support testing, production deployments, change management, and system documentation.
- Participate in technical planning, risk analysis, and project estimation activities.
- Support disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Recommend improvements to development standards, processes, and technical practices.
- Provide technical guidance and end-user training as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education.
- 6+ years of experience in Data Warehouse, ETL, and/or Business Intelligence development.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- ETL Development
- Data Warehouse and Data Mart Development
- SQL and Relational Databases
- Reporting and Dashboard Development
- Data Analysis and Information Delivery
- 2+ years of experience supporting Child Welfare Services, Juvenile Justice, Juvenile Services, Human Services, or a related domain.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Teradata.
- Experience with SQL Assistant and/or Teradata Studio.
- Experience in government or public-sector data warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of Agile, PMM, and SUITE methodologies.
- Experience with data modeling and database development teams.
- Experience with data reconciliation and query/report performance optimization.
- Technical leadership, mentoring, and end-user training experience.
- Experience with production support, change management, testing, security, and technical documentation.
