Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect – Azure to design, develop, and govern scalable enterprise data platforms and modern cloud-based data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure data services, data architecture, data modeling, governance, and cloud migration strategies. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and leadership to deliver secure, high-performing, and scalable data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise-scale data architecture solutions on Microsoft Azure
Build and optimize modern data platforms using Azure cloud services
Define data models, data integration patterns, and architecture standards
Develop scalable batch and real-time data pipelines
Architect data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse solutions
Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premise to Azure environments
Establish data governance, security, lineage, and compliance frameworks
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of Azure data solutions
Define best practices for data engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD processes
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks
Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership
Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and design artifacts

Required Skills

Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services
Expertise in:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
- Azure Databricks
- Azure SQL Database
- Microsoft Fabric (preferred)
Strong knowledge of data warehousing and lakehouse architecture
Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT design and implementation
Advanced SQL and data modeling skills
Experience with big data and distributed processing frameworks
Strong understanding of cloud architecture and networking concepts
Experience with data governance, security, and compliance
Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, Git, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep)
Experience with Python, Spark, or Scala
Familiarity with Power BI and enterprise reporting solutions
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills

Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect / Azure Data Engineer)
Experience with real-time streaming technologies (Kafka, Event Hub, Stream Analytics)
Exposure to AI/ML data platforms
Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data warehouses
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience in multi-cloud environments

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
14+ years of experience in Data Engineering/Data Architecture
7+ years of hands-on experience designing Azure-based data solutions

Nice to Have

Experience with healthcare, finance, retail, or enterprise-scale environments
Exposure to master data management (MDM) and metadata management tools
Understanding of data quality frameworks and governance tools
