Business Analyst

Description

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support business initiatives in Southern California. This Long-term Contract position will focus on partnering with stakeholders to define business needs, evaluate operational opportunities, and shape practical technology-driven solutions. The role requires strong analytical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage complex requirements across multiple workstreams in an onsite environment four days per week.

Responsibilities:

Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and confirm complex requirements while identifying dependencies, risks, and open issues.

Examine current operational processes to uncover improvement opportunities and recommend efficient solutions that support automation and business performance.

Create and maintain process documentation, workflow materials, and functional artifacts that support business process design and refinement.

Convert business objectives into detailed functional specifications and oversee updates as scope, priorities, or requirements evolve.

Lead discussions across business units to build alignment, encourage informed decision-making, and secure support for proposed solutions.

Develop detailed business cases that assess value, impact, and feasibility for proposed initiatives and enhancements.

Contribute to multiple project efforts simultaneously, serving as a team member or taking ownership of leadership responsibilities when needed.

Perform impact assessments and support end-to-end functional quality validation to help ensure solutions meet business expectations and compliance needs.

Support planning-related project work by coordinating analysis activities, documenting findings, and helping drive execution for assigned initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and validate complex business requirements and their interdependencies.
Strong experience building business cases and presenting recommendations to support strategic decisions.
Hands-on knowledge of quality assurance practices, including end-to-end functional testing and validation planning.
Ability to produce impact analyses and communicate business implications to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Solid understanding of compliance principles and how they influence business and technology solutions.
Familiarity with business architecture concepts and how they interact with broader enterprise architecture domains.
Technical proficiency with tools such as SQL is beneficial, and additional hands-on technology experience is considered an advantage.
