Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack & Data Engineering) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 9+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to support two closely related enterprise platforms: a full-stack financial reporting application (Java/Spring Boot backend, Angular front end) and a Python/PySpark based data platform that powers reporting, data storage, and analytics. This role requires a balanced full stack and data engineering skill set. Initially, work will be more focused on the full-stack application as it completes active development. Over time, the role will transition to be more heavily involved with the data platform as the application moves into maintenance mode.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain Java based backend services using Spring Boot
- Build and support Angular front end components for enterprise reporting use cases
- Write and optimize SQL queries supporting reporting and analytics needs
- Support deployment, stabilization, and transition of the application into maintenance mode
- Build and maintain Python and PySpark pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis
- Support ETL workflows that feed enterprise reporting platforms
- Develop integrations with object storage using S3 compatible APIs
- Support data loading, validation, and processing workflows
- Collaborate with internal engineering, data, and business teams to meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability, performance, and data quality
- Follow enterprise standards for security, performance, compliance, and operational readiness
Requirements: - 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
- Production experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with Angular or modern front-end frameworks
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines with Python
- PySpark experience in a production environment (not academic or training only)
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Solid understanding of data management, schemas, validation, and performance
- Experience deploying and supporting systems in a large enterprise environment
- Familiarity with object storage platforms and S3 compatible APIs
Pay range: $41.45 - $51.45 per hour
