Pay Rate: $69 - $74Top Requirements:5+ years of Software Engineering experience (or equivalent through consulting, military, training, education).Strong Data Engineering experience, including ETL and data pipeline frameworks.Proficiency in SQL and PLSQL, with strong database expertise (relational + NoSQL).Experience with Python or Java for data processing and backend development.Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.Plusses:Experience working with Parquet files in S3.Familiarity with Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or other big-data technologies.Hands-on performance tuning and automation (report automation included).Experience working in Agile environments (backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups).Exposure to Artificial Intelligence in data workflows.Job Summary:In this contingent assignment, the Software Engineer will work on complex, large-scale data and software engineering initiatives. The role includes analyzing multi-faceted engineering challenges, designing and optimizing data workflows, and contributing to strategic planning across platforms. The engineer will collaborate with client teams, apply strong technical expertise across data engineering and software engineering stacks, and support compliance with enterprise engineering standards and governance. The position requires deep database knowledge, cloud experience, ETL/pipeline development capabilities, and big-data tool familiarity.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Engineer, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, ETL frameworks, and data processing jobs.
- Write and tune complex SQL/PLSQL queries and work with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Develop data workflows using Python or Java depending on platform needs.
- Manage data stored in Parquet files, S3 buckets, or equivalent storage services.
- Work with both relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Build or support systems utilizing Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem tools, or Kafka.
- Conduct performance tuning at the database, ETL, or application layers.
- Automate workflows, including report automation and pipeline optimization.
- Work within Agile frameworks, participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily standups.
- Participate in cloud-based engineering efforts across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure environments.
- Engage in AI-related data initiatives and apply AI concepts when relevant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, cloud, and data teams to ensure data quality, availability, and scalability.
