Overview & Responsibilities
Work with a leading firm in the healthcare/regulated industry space as a Lead AWS Cloud Platform Engineer. The core objective of this role is to provide hands-on expertise in supporting a massive AWS footprint, focusing on security guardrails and infrastructure automation. You will be a key player in migrating workloads to EKS and building out new tech stacks that support corporate innovation and scalability. You will
Design, implement, and integrate cloud platform resources using an "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) approach.
Support the end-to-end lifecycle of services, from initial design and inception to deployment and ongoing operations.
Collaborate with architecture teams to review proposed solutions, provide feedback, and execute implementation.
Automate the patching, upgrades, and maintenance of the AWS ecosystem to improve system reliability and velocity.
Troubleshoot complex stability, availability, and performance issues across enterprise platforms.
Mentor peers and socialize technical solutions across various technology teams.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of total IT experience, with at least 5 years specifically in AWS Cloud Platform engineering and administration.
At least 2 years of deep, hands-on experience with Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) in a production environment.
Mandatory AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Ansible for configuration management.
Hands-on experience with Python (specifically Boto3 for Lambda functions) and Linux Bash scripting.
Previous experience in Linux System Administration.
Solid understanding of networking components: VPC, Direct Connect, NACLs, Security Groups, and Load Balancers (ELB/ALB).
Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role or a platform operations environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a regulated industry (Healthcare, Finance, etc.) with knowledge of PHI/PII security controls.
Exposure to AWS AI/ML services such as Bedrock and SageMaker.
Familiarity with Service Mesh (Istio or AWS App Mesh) and Container Security tools (Twistlock, Sysdig, or Aqua).
Experience with Java, Go, or Groovy development.
