Summary

Description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to support daily IT operations and provide advanced technical assistance for users and internal teams in Houston, Texas. This contract position with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on troubleshooting with process improvement, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. The role will focus on maintaining stable support services, strengthening operational efficiency, and contributing to infrastructure and security-related initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Address escalated technical issues with urgency, diagnosing complex problems and restoring services with minimal impact to business activities.
Serve as a key resource for higher-level support matters by guiding frontline staff, handling second-level support ownership, and sharing practical troubleshooting knowledge.
Administer and enhance IT service management platforms to improve ticket flow, service quality, and team effectiveness.
Develop and update internal support materials, including standard procedures, knowledge articles, and technical reference documentation.
Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and external support teams to resolve recurring issues and improve overall service delivery.
Track service desk trends and performance data, then recommend adjustments that strengthen response times and operational processes.
Contribute to technical initiatives such as platform upgrades, software rollouts, and security-focused projects across the environment.
Provide in-person deskside assistance for end users when issues require hands-on support beyond externally managed services.

Requirements

Experience supporting and administering Active Directory in a business environment.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Windows 10 systems.
Familiarity with Dell Technologies hardware and enterprise endpoint support.
Experience working with Citrix technologies in a user support or systems administration capacity.
Ability to troubleshoot advanced technical issues across desktop, server, and user access environments.
Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear support procedures and knowledge resources.
Comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external service providers to drive issue resolution and service improvement.
