Summary

Role Overview

The Desktop Support Technician provides hands-on technical support for end users in a Windows 10/11 enterprise environment. This role is responsible for workstation and hardware support, operating system installations, user access management, and field-based technical assistance. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, self-motivated, and able to work independently while delivering high-quality IT support across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ qualification points required, based on a combination of education and experience
    • A Bachelor's degree counts toward qualification points
    • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have at least 2 years of relevant experience
    • Relevant professional experience may be used to meet the total point requirement

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems, including:
    • OS installations and upgrades
    • Troubleshooting OS-related issues in a networked environment
    • Adding and removing users from the network and systems
  • Perform hardware support and deployments, including:
    • PC and laptop deployments
    • Hardware and peripheral installations
    • Equipment setup and field-based technical work
  • Serve as a frontline IT representative, delivering professional, customer-focused support to all internal users
  • Work independently to resolve issues while maintaining clear communication with users and IT leadership
  • Document issues, resolutions, and procedures accurately and consistently

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Windows 10/11 in a corporate, networked environment
  • 3+ years of hands-on hardware support experience, including PC deployments and field technician work
  • Experience managing user access and basic network connectivity tasks
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse user groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and self-manage workload

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canandaigua, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
