Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an IT Solution Analyst to serve as a hands-on solution owner for enterprise applications. This role focuses on application oversight, solution analysis, vendor coordination, and modernization initiatives for customized, mission-critical systems supporting sponsored research agreements and intellectual property management. The position is a solution-focused technical role intended to introduce industry best practices into a complex research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary IT solution point of contact for assigned enterprise applications, including custom and vendor-hosted systems.
- Maintain a deep understanding of system functionality, integrations, limitations, and dependencies.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify enhancement opportunities and long-term system roadmap needs.
- Work with internal and external development teams to clarify requirements, review technical approaches, and monitor delivery.
- Assess vendor capabilities, scalability, and overall fit for evolving organizational needs.
- Support modernization initiatives, including cloud migration planning, technical debt reduction, and security alignment.
- Collaborate with legal, sponsored research, IP stakeholders, and IT leadership.
- Identify system and vendor-related risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Maintain clear documentation for system overviews, technical decisions, and dependencies.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in IT solution analysis, application ownership, or technical program support. Experience working with custom enterprise applications in complex environments is required.
Technical Skills: A strong understanding of vendor-led development models, application lifecycle and modernization concepts, and cloud-hosted versus on-premise system considerations is necessary. Candidates must be comfortable operating in evolving environments with limited in-house support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in regulated, public sector, research, or highly matrixed organizations is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $35.00/hour to $50.00/hour. This represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. The actual pay rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and other factors. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
