responsibilities:
you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
qualifications:
Must Have Qualifications
- 6-10+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering
- Hands on experience with Azure and Google Cloud Platform cost management, billing models, and optimization
- Experience managing and optimizing on prem or hybrid infrastructure costs
- Proven FinOps experience delivering:
o Application level cost visibility, allocation, and chargeback
o Identify optimization opportunities (rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, storage lifecycle, architectural efficiencies).
o Budgeting, forecasting, anomaly detection, and variance analysis
o Measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Strong automation and engineering capabilities, including:
o Scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent)
o Building automated guardrails, alerts, and remediation workflows
- AI assisted FinOps automation experience, such as:
o Using AI driven insights or anomaly detection to identify inefficiencies and spend risks
o Automating cost insight generation, recommendations, or remediation actions
- Experience implementing tagging, allocation, and governance standards at scale
- Ability to integrate cost controls into engineering pipelines and operational processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical cost drivers into business impact

Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating FinOps in large scale or multi cloud environments
- Kubernetes or container cost optimization experience
- Experience embedding cost as a non functional requirement (NFR) in architecture and design reviews
- Familiarity with third party FinOps or cloud cost management platforms
- FinOps Foundation certification or demonstrated applied FinOps maturity
