Position Summary

Senior React JS Developer to design, develop, test, deploy, and support modern web applications for the DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) modernization initiative.

The developer will work across the development, QA, and production lifecycle and help modernize DMV enterprise applications using modern technologies while maintaining security, performance, and enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

·          Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications using React JS.

· Develop responsive, user-friendly web interfaces based on wireframes and designs.

· Write clean, scalable JavaScript/React code and integrate REST/RPC APIs.

· Work with JSX, Babel, DOM manipulation, object models, data structures, and algorithms.

· Refactor, debug, optimize, and enhance existing applications.

· Collaborate with internal teams on software architecture and design.

· Support Agile development and application lifecycle activities.

· Ensure applications meet enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.

· Troubleshoot application and system issues and provide technical support.

· Monitor application performance and identify complex technical issues.

· Provide technical guidance to District agencies, stakeholders, and development teams.

· Identify and recommend development best practices and standards.

· Support integration with statewide systems and enterprise applications.

· Interact with senior business users and technical experts.

· May coordinate activities of other application developers.

· May serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Required Technical Skills

·          Strong React JS development experience.

· Advanced JavaScript knowledge.

· Experience with JSX and Babel.

· Strong understanding of DOM manipulation and event handling.

· Experience with REST/RPC APIs and application integration.

· Strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts, data structures, and algorithms.

· Experience developing responsive web applications.

· Experience with Agile methodologies.

· Experience with application testing, debugging, deployment, and support.

· Understanding of application architecture, security, and enterprise standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
