The Benefits Analyst ("Analyst") participates in the delivery of the Firm's US and international benefit programs through effective and timely administration of domestic and international fully- and self-insured employee benefit and retirement plans in a Workday environment, and the Analyst interacts with employees in the resolution of benefit questions. This position exercises a high-level of autonomy and teamwork, interacting with all levels of employees throughout the Firm. This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days in our Plano office.

Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan's Key Results:

People
  • Administers domestic and international employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, life, disability, vision, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, employee assistance programs, health club subsidies and COBRA.
  • Participates in benefit enrollment process for new employees and current employee benefit qualifying life events.
  • Review, validate and approve information in the Workday HCM System, to process benefit elections ensuring a smooth and positive experience to employees.
  • Administers RyanTHRIVE, the Ryan wellbeing program
  • May administer all leaves of absences and coordinates associated short- and long-term disability claims.

Client
  • Administers the Firm's 401(k) plan, including processing of deferrals and loans, handling loan administration, and plan document management.
  • Monitors Workday and reviews all benefit vendor file feeds and technical aspects of benefits administration.
  • Resolves associated eligibility issues identified in weekly exceptions vendor reporting and validates vendor inquiries regarding interface information provided on weekly benefit interfaces.
  • Supports the Open Enrollment process from end-to-end including Workday testing, communication, and team member support
  • May participate in the review of plan documents and materials to ensure appropriate provisions and coverage.
  • Exemplifies customer service orientation and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Value
  • Audits, reviews and prepares funding requests each payroll cycle for the 401(k) and Health Savings Account ("HSA") employee deferral deposits.
  • Reviews and submits benefits invoices for payment, including the resolution of discrepancies with vendors.
  • Prepares routine and ad-hoc reporting as requested by management.
  • Participates in the coordination of annual 401(k) compliance testing, match calculation and funding, government filings, annual audit, Retirement Committee meetings, and the plan's investment options.
  • Maintains awareness of federal, state, and local benefit laws and regulations to ensure compliance, including, but not limited to, HIPAA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, and Section 125 provisions.
  • Maintains and recommends improvements to processes, procedures, and documentation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of benefits program administration.
  • May administer the Firm's workers' compensation program, including the coordination of multiple state requirements, injury, treatment and reporting coordination, and the annual workers' compensation audit.
  • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as needed

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required with at least five years of solid, technically focused, progressively responsible experience in benefits administration in multistate environments. International experience is preferred.

Computer Skills:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Experience in administering benefit plans in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is required. Workday experience preferred.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Excel

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver's license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting or standing while working.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
