ThousandEyes Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled ThousandEyes Engineer to join our team and provide deep expertise in network assurance, SaaS integrations, and end-to-end performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills across OSI layers 3–7, hands-on experience with the ThousandEyes platform, and the ability to integrate monitoring solutions with enterprise SaaS environments. This role combines technical engineering, coding, and customer-facing responsibilities to ensure optimal application and network performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain ThousandEyes monitoring solutions (Enterprise Agents, Endpoint Agents, Browser Synthetics, VM vantage points).

• Perform OSI Layer 3–7 troubleshooting for networks, internet routing, cloud applications, and end-user experience.

• Develop and maintain test scripts using JavaScript for ThousandEyes Selenium-based testing.

• Leverage ThousandEyes APIs for automation, reporting, and integration into enterprise SaaS systems.

• Act as a strategist for network assurance monitoring, analyzing event anomalies, outages, and service degradations.

• Integrate SaaS platforms with OpenTelemetry, OAuth, and Basic Authentication for seamless monitoring and data correlation.

• Provide expert analysis of service availability, performance metrics, and cross-internet communications.

• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to design monitoring strategies and resolve escalated issues.

• Manage incident reports, Jira ticket workflows, and documentation for platform configurations and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in ThousandEyes platform (agents, tests, APIs, integrations).

• Strong troubleshooting background across network, cloud, and SaaS environments.

• Knowledge of JavaScript programming for test automation.

• Familiarity with Linux environments and Cisco networking technologies.

• Hands-on experience with API integrations and monitoring frameworks.

• Excellent communication and customer-facing consulting skills.

• Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Network Assurance (2024)

• JS-Institute Entry-Level JavaScript Programmer (2023)

• Cisco Certified Network Professional – CCNP (2021)

• Juniper Networks Certified Associate, Security – JNCIA-SEC (2021)

• Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA (2020)

• CompTIA Network+ & A+ Technician (2009)

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years with Cisco | ThousandEyes in a consulting, engineering, or technical account management role.

• Proven success with SaaS platform integrations and performance monitoring.

• Experience analyzing outages, internet anomalies, and large-scale application performance issues.

• Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems such as Jira.
