Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Messaging Engineer with deep expertise in telecom messaging technologies, including SMS, MMS, and RCS. This role requires strong hands-on experience with SMPP, messaging gateways, and carrier integrations, along with the ability to design and operate high-availability, scalable messaging systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable messaging platforms (SMS/MMS/RCS)
Work with SMPP protocol, messaging gateways, and telecom infrastructure
Integrate with global carriers and manage routing/delivery optimization
Ensure high availability and performance of messaging systems
Troubleshoot telecom protocols and production issues
Lead architectural decisions and mentor engineering teams
Required Skills (Must-Have)
Strong hands-on experience with SMS, MMS, RCS platforms
Expertise in SMPP protocol
Experience with messaging gateways & carrier integrations
Knowledge of global telecom carrier ecosystems & routing
Experience designing high-availability systems
Strong troubleshooting skills in telecom environments
Leadership experience (technical design + mentoring)
Nice to Have
Experience with CPaaS platforms (Twilio, Sinch, Infobip, etc.)
Cloud experience (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure)
Exposure to messaging analytics or delivery optimization
