Camunda Consultant

Overview:

• Senior Software Engineer - Camunda BPM & Workflow Automation will design, develop, and support business process automation and workflow solutions for Fidelity s Workplace Investing operations.
• The role focuses on Camunda BPM, Java, Spring Boot, BPMN workflows, REST APIs, enterprise integrations, SQL, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Camunda BPM workflow solutions from the ground up.
• Create and maintain BPMN workflows to automate complex business processes.
• Develop backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Integrate workflow solutions with enterprise applications and existing systems.
• Modernize legacy operational processes into scalable, cloud-ready automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot and support workflow applications across the SDLC.
• Write and execute SQL queries for application development, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
• Participate in CI/CD and Git-based development processes.
• Collaborate with business partners, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business processes into technical solutions.
• Contribute to application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Camunda development, particularly building new workflow solutions from scratch.
• Strong experience with Camunda BPM and business process management (BPM).
• Strong Java and/or JavaScript development experience.
• Experience developing REST APIs from scratch.
• Strong understanding of BPMN/workflow orchestration.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern software development processes.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Financial services / financial industry experience.
• Experience working with GitHub and modern source-control practices.
