Overview
QA Automation Engineers design and implement automated tests by creating scripts that execute testing functions automatically. Responsibilities include prioritizing test scenarios, creating execution plans, developing documentation for automated processes, and ensuring software quality through planning, execution, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and/or perform work on programming projects, including highly complex or large-scale efforts.
- Coordinate and/or write test plans and test data.
- Write complex software code and debug software.
- Analyze proposed applications for inclusion in software regression suites.
- Analyze, review, and revise software to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new procedures.
- Prepare detailed analyses, plans, diagrams, and verification procedures for existing and proposed applications.
Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Requirements (Required)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience designing automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
- Experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement those scenarios.
- Experience creating test plans, writing test cases, and preparing test environments.
- Experience performing moderately complex functional, application, and regression testing.
- Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle and development methodologies.
- Ability to interpret requirements documents and update test documentation accordingly.
- Strong familiarity with analysis, planning, and management reporting functions.
- Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of the customer s business in the assigned area.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with the customer as needed during the test cycle.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, team orientation, and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work successfully with both technical and non-technical groups and manage multiple responsibilities.
Preferred (Not required)
- 2 years experience with the Texas Client Project Delivery Framework and associated document templates.
- 2 years familiarity with the company s information architecture and information management methodologies.
- 2 years familiarity with existing and planned software technology and the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
