Lead Technician-JLL

What this job involves:

As a Lead Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in shaping a brighter way for our clients by ensuring their facilities operate at peak performance every day. This position puts you at the center of building operations, where you'll lead maintenance activities, oversee critical building systems, and support a team of technicians dedicated to maintaining high operational standards. You'll be empowered to thrive as you troubleshoot complex technical challenges, coordinate with vendors and site leadership, and ensure safety compliance across all facility operations. This role offers hands-on technical work combined with team leadership responsibilities that make a tangible difference in how our clients experience their workplaces.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Lead and mentor maintenance technicians in executing daily operations, preventive maintenance schedules, and system inspections

Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems to ensure optimal performance

Conduct routine facility inspections and equipment assessments to identify issues proactively and maintain operational efficiency and safety compliance

Manage work orders through computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation

Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and repairs while minimizing equipment downtime

Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and facility staff, supporting their professional development

Respond to emergency maintenance situations and ensure adherence to company safety procedures, environmental standards, and local regulations

Required qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

3-7 years of experience in facility maintenance, building engineering, or related technical roles

Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems with proven troubleshooting abilities

Experience leading maintenance teams or supervising technical staff in a commercial facility environment

Familiarity with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance program implementation

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints

Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders

Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, with capability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces for extended periods

Valid driver's license for multi-site support or vendor coordination

Preferred qualifications:

Technical certification, trade school education, or relevant trade licenses (EPA certification, HVAC certification, etc.)

Experience in commercial real estate, critical facility environments, or large-scale property operations

Knowledge of workplace safety standards, OSHA compliance requirements, and environmental regulations

Background with budgeting, inventory management, and procurement of maintenance supplies and equipment

Availability for after-hours support, emergency response, or rotating shifts as needed

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Flexibility required for weekends, overtime, and early starts to support facility needs and emergency response situations.
