The Work

The GitHub Administrator is responsible for the management, configuration, maintenance, and governance of the client's GitHub repositories and related developer tooling. This individual supports software development, DevSecOps, and IT teams by ensuring secure, compliant collaboration within GitHub, enabling streamlined workflows that adhere to federal contracting regulations and cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and articulates business objectives and operational challenges, proactively identifying alternative solutions to address organizational needs.
  • Conducts studies and cost/benefit analyses of proposed alternatives to inform decision-making and ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedural workflows, and operational issues to automate processing or enhance existing computer systems for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with personnel from relevant organizational units to assess current operational procedures, identify process bottlenecks or challenges, and gather specific requirements regarding data input methods, data summarization needs, and reporting formats.
  • Prepares detailed documentation outlining user requirements, desired program functions, and step-by-step processes required for the development or modification of computer programs, ensuring all stakeholder needs are addressed.
  • Evaluates the capabilities, technical specifications, and scheduling limitations of current computer systems to determine feasibility of requested programs or system modifications within existing resources and constraints.

Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt to evolving responsibilities as outlined by the client.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Git-based version control administration.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience managing GitHub Enterprise (Cloud or Server) organizations.
  • Minimum 8 years of demonstrated expertise in role-based access control (RBAC), SAML/SSO integration, and branch protection strategies.
  • Minimum 8 years of proficiency in GitHub Actions and YAML-based workflow automation.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with audit logging, compliance reporting, and conducting access reviews.
  • Minimum 8 years of proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation purposes.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience implementing DevSecOps practices within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with GitHub Advanced Security, including CodeQL and Secret Scanning.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain relationships across technical and business teams.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 years of preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and Bicep.
  • 4 years of preferred knowledge in implementing policy-as-code solutions.
  • 4 years of preferred ability to document governance standards and developer guides.
  • 4 years of preferred experience leading technical enablement sessions.

Working Conditions
  • Professional hybrid office environment with the ability to work on-site.
