RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a PCB Schematic Drafter in Redmond, WA.
Summary:
This role supports hardware design engineers by translating design intent into formal schematic designs. The Schematic Engineer is not responsible for circuit design but instead focuses on owning and operating schematic capture tools, producing accurate PCB schematics, and serving as a bridge between design engineers and PCB layout teams. This is a hands on, tool driven role requiring deep experience with Cadence schematic tools in an industry setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Convert engineering design intent (hand sketches, PowerPoint diagrams, existing drawings) into formal schematic designs
* Operate and manage schematic development using Cadence Allegro and Cadence System Capture
* Support design engineers through frequent, iterative communication as schematics evolve
* Maintain accuracy and consistency of schematic designs for PCB based systems
* Interface with PCB layout teams, ensuring clean handoff from schematic design to layout
* Update schematics based on ongoing engineering feedback and design changes
* Work closely with engineers to resolve schematic related questions and adjustments
REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands on, industry experience with Cadence tools, specifically: Cadence Allegro; Cadence System Capture
* PCB schematic experience is mandatory
* Proven ability to translate engineering intent into clean, production ready schematics
* Experience supporting engineers rather than owning end to end circuit design
Preferred/Nice to Have Skills:
* Experience with Cadence OrCAD (acceptable as related experience)
* Familiarity with Altium, including the ability to open and review existing designs
* Exposure to DSCR (Zuken) is a plus but not required
* Prior Microsoft experience is a plus, especially within Hardware
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
