Summary

We have an opening for a Jira & Confluence Implementation Lead in Frisco, TX. Start date is 5/15 and will last for 2 YEARS. This is a temp to perm role

Remote / Hybrid / Onsite (depending on project requirements). Expenses paid if candidate is not local, but candidate must be open to travel as needed to support project requirements


Pay Rate is 73-88/hr

Job Description – JIRA & Confluence Implementation Lead 
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled JIRA & Confluence Implementation Lead / Migration Architect with at least 10 + years of lead enterprise-wide Atlassian platform implementations, migrations, architecture design, and governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable Atlassian environments, leading migration programs, implementing best practices, and driving collaboration across Agile, DevOps, and IT Service Management teams.
This role requires deep expertise in Atlassian architecture, cloud and data center migrations, workflow engineering, integrations, automation, and enterprise governance.

Key Responsibilities
Atlassian Solution Architecture & Design
•    Design and architect scalable JIRA and Confluence environments for enterprise use. 
•    Define platform strategy, architecture standards, governance models, and operational procedures. 
•    Create high-availability, secure, and performance-optimized Atlassian environments. 
•    Design multi-project and multi-team collaboration frameworks. 
•    Establish enterprise taxonomy, permission models, naming standards, and workspace structures. 
•    Lead end-to-end implementation of: 
o    JIRA Software 
o    JIRA Service Management (JSM) 
o    Confluence 
•    Configure: 
o    Workflows 
o    Schemes 
o    Automation rules 
o    Dashboards 
o    Reports 
o    SLAs 
o    Custom fields 
o    Screen configurations 
•    Implement Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and ITSM workflows. 
•    Lead migrations including: 
o    JIRA Server/Data Center to Atlassian Cloud 
o    Confluence migrations 
o    Cross-instance consolidations 
o    Legacy ticketing/documentation platform migrations 
•    Perform migration assessments, dependency mapping, and migration planning. 
•    Develop migration runbooks, rollback plans, and cutover strategies. 
•    Execute data validation, reconciliation, and post-migration optimization. 
Integration & Automation
•    Integrate Atlassian platforms with enterprise systems such as: 
o    Azure DevOps 
o    GitHub/GitLab 
o    ServiceNow 
o    LDAP/Active Directory 
o    SSO/SAML providers 
o    Microsoft Teams/Slack 
o    CI/CD pipelines 
•    Develop automation using: 
o    Automation for JIRA 
o    REST APIs 
o    Webhooks 
o    Scriptrunner/Groovy 
•    Optimize workflows and reduce manual operational effort. 
Governance, Security & Compliance
•    Define and enforce Atlassian governance standards and administration policies. 
•    Implement role-based access controls and audit compliance requirements. 
•    Manage backup, disaster recovery, retention, and platform monitoring strategies. 
•    Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards. 
Stakeholder & Program Management
•    Collaborate with business units, PMO, DevOps, Engineering, and IT leadership. 
•    Conduct architecture workshops and solution design sessions. 
•    Lead platform adoption and change management initiatives. 
•    Provide mentoring and technical leadership to Atlassian administrators and support teams.

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 
•    10+ years of experience with Atlassian products administration and architecture. 
•    Strong expertise in: 
o    JIRA Software 
o    JIRA Service Management 
o    Confluence 
o    Atlassian Cloud/Data Center 
•    Proven experience leading large-scale migration and implementation projects. 
•    Experience designing enterprise workflow architectures and governance models. 
•    Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and ITSM frameworks. 
•    Experience with integrations, APIs, automation, and scripting.
