An organization in the public infrastructure sector is seeking a Deputy Director of Architecture and Planning in New York, NY. This role will shape cloud and enterprise architecture strategy, with a focus on Azure-based infrastructure, network design, and integrated technology planning across complex systems.
About the Opportunity:
Responsibilities:
Define and govern cloud and enterprise architecture strategy across infrastructure, network, and software platforms.
Design and oversee hybrid networking solutions, including secure connectivity between core and remote systems.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications, roadmaps, and actionable architecture solutions.
Evaluate, select, and integrate technologies and platforms to support performance, scalability, and operational goals.
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support implementation and documentation of architecture standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in system administration, software engineering, network engineering, or enterprise architecture.
Strong expertise in Azure cloud computing, networking protocols, and enterprise infrastructure.
Experience designing and implementing scalable system architectures, including hybrid cloud and on-premises integrations.
Experience with enterprise system integration and identity and access management, including Azure Entra.
Experience with Cisco or Meraki networking, including firewalls, TCP/IP, and secure network design.
Proficiency in architectural design patterns and modeling tools, along with experience establishing data integration strategies and data pipelines.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Deep knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop environments and virtualization strategies.
Desired Skills:
Experience with large-scale project management systems such as Kahua or Primavera P6.
Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or public sector environments.
Relevant industry certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, or TOGAF.
