Infrastructure Technical Specialist (ITS) – FileCloud & AWS
Key Focus: FileCloud Administration (Primary) + AWS GovCloud / VDI Support
Role Overview: This role serves as the primary owner and administrator of the FileCloud platform, ensuring reliable performance, security, and a seamless user experience across the organization. FileCloud is a mission-critical system, and this position is responsible for end-to-end administration including user onboarding, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ongoing support.
In addition, this role supports the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment, including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and other key platforms such as AMANDA. While AWS infrastructure is important, the success of FileCloud operations and user support is the top priority.
Key Responsibilities

FileCloud (Primary Responsibility)
- Serve as the lead administrator for FileCloud (Linux/MongoDB environment)
- Manage user provisioning, onboarding, permissions, and access controls
- Troubleshoot user issues and provide ongoing technical support
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and storage utilization
- Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity across the platform
- Partner with internal teams to improve FileCloud usage, workflows, and adoption
- Perform upgrades, patching, and system maintenance

AWS GovCloud & VDI (Secondary Responsibility)
- Administer AWS infrastructure supporting VDI workspaces and core applications
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security
- Support deployment, maintenance, and optimization of AWS-based systems
- Assist with infrastructure automation, server builds, and data migration
- Participate in on-call support for patching, upgrades, and issue resolution
Required Skill Set
Demonstrated ability to:
- Serve as a FileCloud administrator, supporting users, resolving issues, and managing platform operations
- Manage AWS infrastructure supporting business applications and VDI environments
- Apply advanced system security practices across cloud and application environments
- Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and user-facing issues
- Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams
- Work independently and proactively take ownership of systems
- Provide clear status updates and maintain high-quality standards
- Support after-hours maintenance, including nights and weekends as needed
Requirements
- Hands-on experience administering FileCloud or similar enterprise file-sharing platforms
- Experience with Linux environments and MongoDB
- Experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Background in enterprise systems administration (client/server environments)
- Experience with cloud adoption, migrations, and infrastructure design
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and system architecture
- Experience troubleshooting complex cloud and application environments
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and command-line tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in customer-facing support or consulting roles
