ServiceNow Architect

Position Overview:
Sky Solutions is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect to lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow solutions supporting a modern, integrated user experience. The architect will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into scalable ServiceNow architecture, leading integrations with enterprise and legacy systems, and ensuring solutions align with security, accessibility, and federal IT standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on ServiceNow architecture experience, particularly with ServiceNow portals, integrations, identity/SSO, workflows, and enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of ServiceNow solutions and portals.
· Design scalable ServiceNow architectures that integrate with existing enterprise and legacy applications.
· Develop solutions supporting single sign-on, federated identity, and authentication, including PIV and/or Login.gov environments.
· Design and implement ServiceNow workflows, business rules, integrations, APIs, and portal/user-experience components.
· Translate business requirements into technical architecture, solution designs, and implementation plans.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, enterprise architects, developers, and program leadership.
· Develop technical architecture documentation, design documents, and system engineering lifecycle artifacts.
· Ensure ServiceNow solutions support Section 508 accessibility and usability requirements.
· Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate redundant processes, and improve the overall user experience.
· Provide technical leadership throughout development, testing, deployment, and production transition.
· Support technical assessments, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex ServiceNow architecture and integration issues.
· Ensure solutions follow applicable federal, security, privacy, enterprise architecture, and organizational development standards.
Required Qualifications:
· 8+ years of experience in IT/software architecture, with significant experience designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions.
· Strong hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, including portal development, workflows, integrations, and platform architecture.
· Experience designing enterprise system integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, middleware, or similar technologies.
· Experience with identity and access management, SSO, authentication, or federated identity.
· Experience translating business and technical requirements into architecture and detailed solution designs.
· Experience working with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, developers, cybersecurity, and infrastructure/enterprise architecture teams.
· Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and technical documentation.
· Experience working in federal government or other highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
· Understanding of Section 508/accessibility requirements and accessible application design.
· Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· ServiceNow certification such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or relevant Certified Implementation Specialist or Architect-level credentials.
· Experience with ServiceNow Customer Service Management (CSM), Service Portal, Employee Center, or related portal technologies.
· Experience with PIV, Login.gov, SAML, OAuth, or similar authentication technologies.
· Experience integrating ServiceNow with LMS, enterprise applications, or other legacy systems.
· Experience supporting DHS/FEMA or other federal agencies.
· Familiarity with federal security and compliance requirements such as FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, and federal enterprise architecture.
