GDPS Consultant

Introduction:

We are looking for a GDPS Consultant who has implemented a GDPS solution and is skilled and experienced to guide, instruct, train, and educate clients and actually lead a GDPS engagement. Our customers are inexperienced with GDPS and will look to the candidates as experts in the GDPS technologies and the features and functionalities, the implementation and customization of the product GDPS, as well as education and training.

Responsibilities:

1. DASD
   • DSCLI understanding
   • DSCLI Scripting
   • Carving a DS8K with pools, LSS''s and Volumes
   • Starting replication between sites- spreading across the IBM power devices within the DS8K
   • Resiliency on the DS8K - spreading connections for redundancy
2. z/OS
   • PARMLIB changes
   • PROCLIB changes
   • CLIST and RACF updates and changes per customer requirements
   • Minor updates throughout the sysplex
   • Sysplexing for Metro Mirror and hyperswap capabilities
3. NetView and System Automation (zSA)
   • Standing up netviews from a blank slate
   • Editing netview environment for Metro Mirror or Global mirror
   • REXX coding specifics for customer requirements
   • Policy Data Base (PDB) creation and management
   • Dual control and security parameters
4. GDPS Training and Education
   • Provide extensive training to various client teams, management, operations, etc.
   • Train extensively on the GDPS product and customization in the client’s unique environment
