Senior IT Project Manager - Healthcare Technology (Hybrid, Northeast US)

About the Role

The Senior IT Project Manager will lead high-impact, enterprise-level initiatives that strengthen clinical, operational, and administrative systems across the organization. This is a strategic role that partners closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, and technical stakeholders to deliver technology solutions that directly improve patient care.

This position is hybrid, with on-site presence required based on project needs.
What You'll Do
  • Lead complex IT initiatives from planning through implementation and stabilization, with a focus on healthcare technology.
  • Develop and manage project plans including scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure alignment with established PMO standards, governance, and methodologies.
  • Partner with clinical, business, and technical stakeholders to define objectives, success metrics, and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain project momentum.
  • Manage resources effectively to meet milestones and deliver on time and within scope.
  • Provide clear, consistent communication to sponsors and leadership through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and performance.
  • Navigate challenges, resolve conflicts, and maintain strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage scope changes and implement contingency plans when needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools, and best practices.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred (IT, Business, Healthcare, or related field).
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including 8+ years in healthcare IT or another regulated environment.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives involving EHR systems, clinical applications, or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Technical breadth across cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, end-user computing, telecom, and analytics.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and external teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with Smartsheet, MS Project, and Microsoft 365.
